THANKS TO THE ABSOLUTELY REALISTIC AND VERY DETAILED REPRESENTATION OF DIFFERENT WORKING STEPS AND SITUATIONS OF OUR CLEAN ROOM IN A SINGLE, WALL-SIZED IMAGE, WE CAN NOW GIVE CUSTOMERS AND VISITORS CONTROLLED INSIGHTS INTO THE PROTECTED AREAS OF OUR HIGH-TECH PRODUCTION.

A formerly sober, functional room thus became this amazing eye-catcher at our location in Villach.

      THE OBJECTIVE

The large-scale “Clean room” installation commissioned by Infineon AG Villach was to recreate the production facilities in the clean room, which are hermetically sealed for technical production reasons and only accessible to production staff in protective clothing, and therefore to make it visually accessible to all employees, customers and visitors.

    THE IMPLEMENTATION

The production stages of the clean room had to be photographed during the normal production process. Precise planning and foresighted motif design were essential here. The difficult lighting conditions required by the production process and angled perspectives pose a great challenge for digital composing and the subsequent colouring process, aiming towards a bright but authentic lighting situation.

I individually adapted proportions, perspectives and arrangement of the picture elements to the given locations in the foyer, seamlessly integrating existing structural elements such as doors and sliding walls into the installation. The photo artwork installed in the foyer of Infineon’s plant in Villach gives the viewer a razor-sharp, almost hyper-real insight into different areas of clean room production from different angles. In the spirit of the trompe-l’œil art form, the realistic impression of the foyer is created by looking through windows into the everyday production process of a clean room.
